ADVENTURE SPORTS

Base Camp offer courses in a variety of sports; skiing, snowboarding, scubadiving, kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing, paramotoring, skydiving and mountain biking.

Ideal if on a gap year, career break or looking for a track into the industry, with highly qualified, specialist instructors enlisted on every course, you’ll receive the ultimate training experience. You’ll notice a dramatic improvement in your style, performance and technique, and be in the ideal position to gain your internationally recognised qualification.

Including everything from teaching and technical skills, to work experience and group management – your course offers a full and varied programme that’s designed to increase your skill base to the maximum.

You’ll train in a small group, giving you extensive opportunities for one on one sessions with your instructor. Watching your progress on video and taking part in individual formal feedback discussions with your instructor will help you to track your progress and identify areas for you to focus on.

Our courses are designed to be comprehensive, and so we include additional training courses – such as first aid on our PADI scubadiving courses or avalanche and mountain safety on our ski and snowboard courses – to improve your safety and enhance your all-round knowledge of the sport.

And while the training aspect of your course is crucial, we’re also about having a lot of fun too – both during and after training. Enjoy taking part in our exciting trips and activities, then recharge your batteries in your clean, comfortable and central accommodation, and once your energy’s back – venture out into the resort for some serious partying!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Being in the right place at the right time is essential for you to have the most incredible adventure possible. Not only is each location set in spectacular, inspirational scenery, but we give you every chance to make the most of the natural elements that so often adventure sports rely.

Our snowsport locations, for example, are chosen for their reliable snow conditions, with 30 – 40 feet of powder every year. If skiing and snowboarding is what you are after; resorts such as Val d’Isere or Meribel in France, Verbier in Switzerland and Banff or Whistler in Canada are some of the most respected and revered.

For watersports if its wind you’re after, Dahab in Egypt guarantees over 300 wind days every year and is ideal for windsurfing or kitesurfing. While under the water Dahab is perched on the edge of the African Rift, the giant crack in the earth that originally formed the Red Sea and the Rift Valley. The resulting underwater landscape is spectacular, covered in valleys, canyons and caves for scubadiving.

North Cornwall, and more specifically the towns of Rock, Polzeath, Padstow and Trevone - has long been a favourite British holiday destination. And with good reason – the pace of life is relaxed, the towns quiet but friendly and the sea warm and clear. Not to mention the rugged shoreline, dotted with golden beaches, washed by some of the best surf that the UK has to offer. For surfing and waterskiing, you can’t do much better.

Spain is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe, and, with adventure sports such as skydiving, paramotoring, mountain biking and kitesurfing becoming more and more popular, people are flocking there to make full advantage of the stunning mountains, amazing beaches and warm climate.

Among these, arial thrill seekers are travelling to Spain in greater and greater numbers – it is close to home, is warm year round and offers some of the best Dropzones in the world. It is at the forefront of the development of Paramotoring, and home to Europe’s busiest Dropzone in Empuriabrava.

Many of our clients use a break with Base Camp as the start of a new career in adventure sports. During your break we make sure that as well as giving you as many skills, information and advice as we can while you’re with us, that we also support you fully once your course is over.

INDUSTRY FAST TRACK

Our fast track courses are extremely popular and renowned with adventure sports enthusiasts for their exceptional results (although not at the expense of enjoying an amazing social scene). Perhaps you’re a contract worker with some time off coming up, or ex-service personnel and looking for a new challenge.

You’ll build an incredible level of experience across many disciplines of your chosen sport with thorough and comprehensive training from our specialist coaches. And if its qualifications you’re after we offer those in abundance; BASI, CSIA & CASI – skiing and snowboarding, PADI – scubadiving, PMBI – mountain biking, BWS – waterskiing and IKO – kitesurfing.

Working closely together, our specialists will train you to maximise your skill, performance and knowledge of your chosen sport over a short space of time. You could learn as much in one season as you would in ten years of holiday-length courses.
